Art Nature Dialogues

Beyond the Blue, 2005 - garden sculpture by Shayne Dark

A conference and slide show with John K. Grande

Resource exploitation, a respect for nature, city planning, regionalism and cultural identity are all subjects that now preoccupy today’s pubic at large. Renowned for his writings concerning the environment and its rapport with art, John Grande will discuss the ways many artists now deal with such issues and how it affects their creative process, social concerns and even the way their art is distributed. John K. Grande will present a lecture on art and environment on July 10th at 3:00 p.m. at Edward Day Gallery. For the occasion Mr. Grande will present many examples of recently created environmental artworks from North America and Europe.

Writer and art critic John Grande’s reviews and feature articles have been published extensively in Artforum, Vice Versa, Sculpture, Art Papers, British Journal of Photography, Espace Sculpture, Public Art Review, Vie des Arts, Art On Paper, The Globe & Mail, Circa & Canadian Forum.
