Melanie Authier

Authier’s paintings are derived from visual journeys through paint that suggest otherworldly abstract landscapes inspired form personal memory. Authier states that her paintings “have a relationship to the organic, as well as the pictorial rules associated with traditional landscape painting.”

Authier has recently graduated from the University of Guelph with her MFA and has exhibited at the 2006 Chicago Art Fair through the Michael Gibson Gallery in London, Ontario. She recently had a solo exhibition at aceartinc. in Winnipeg, was chosen as a semi-finalist for the 2007 RBC Painting Competition, and is included in many private collections. Her work has been collected by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ottawa, Canada.
